Celebrations as PhD Milestones Achieved

Congratulations to ARC uniquely Australian Foods training Centre student Selina Fyfe on the successful completion of her end of Thesis Review milestone on Wednesday. Passing this important milestone signifies that Selina should be able to submit her PhD thesis in three months. Her research project is entitled “Characterising the potential of the green plum (Buchanania obovata) as a native Australian fruit” she is advised by Prof Yasmina Sultanbawa, A/Prof Heather Smyth, A/Prof Horst Joachim Schirra and international collaborators Prof Michael Rychlik, Prof Philippe Schmitt-Kopplin. Well done to Selina and her advisory team on achieving this milestone.

More success for the centre today with PhD student Sera Susan Jacob achieving her confirmation milestone. This is a significant milestone as a student passes the probationary stage of their PhD. Her research project is, “Wattleseeds as Nutritional Foods” and her advisors are Prof Mike Gidley, A/Prof Heather Smyth, Dr Bernadine Flanagan, Dr Barbara Williams and Sarah Hickey. Additionally, Sera’s project is supported by Karen Sheldon Catering. Congratulations to Sera and her advisors for successfully completing her confirmation of candidature.
