ITTC for Uniquely Australian Foods at TropAG 2022

It has been a busy time preparing for and culminating in a massive few days at TropAg 2022.

Across the formal conference program we had fantastic representation from UAF staff, students, and partners in the form of 17 poster presentations, 16 oral presentation speakers across 6 different symposia sessions, and key note plenary speaker Hon Prof Henrietta Marrie AM. Furthermore as an exhibitor, the UAF team had a dedicated booth space where we were able to leverage and showcase key elements of our work to delegates during the three day event. The booth served as a multi-purpose meeting place, allowing for product sales by our partners at Native Oz bushfoods, and also a product testing space for the capture of consumer feedback as part of a number of our student projects. These activities drew a consistent stream of delegates to the booth and really helped promote discussion and interest around native foods in Australia and brought attention to the work that is being done in this space.

Printed project overviews, product fact sheets, and promotional material from our enterprise partners further helped at the booth to attract interest, facilitate discussion, share contact and networking details, and serve as take-aways for delegates who perhaps didn’t have time to stop and chat at length.

Overall the success of the team, and the UAF exhibitor booth overall is demonstrative of the fantastic cooperation and collaboration between students, staff, and partners. Many thanks and congratulations go out to the whole team, in the preparation of materials, set up and manning of the booth during conference days, and in particular the willing assistance from everyone in the running of student product testing and covering of product sales at key moments to ensure everyone could make the most of their conference experience.
