Integrating indigenous traditional knowledge with science to co-improve Australian native botanicals’ value chain- A case study of Terminalia Canascens (Jilungin tea)

Overview: The project will focus on co-improving the value chain of Jilungin tea by integrating indigenous traditional knowledge with science. It aims at developing a place based, culturally appropriate business development model for Jilungin tea. It also aims at identifying areas of value creation in the supply chain by working collaboratively with the research partners.

Progress so far: Systematic review on business development models for indigenous businesses in Australia in progress.

Next goals: Quality analysis of Jilungin tea with different drying methods, consumer survey specific to Jilungin tea and sensory analysis.
