Prof Philippe Schmitt-Kopplin
Prof Philippe Schmitt-Kopplin, Helmholtz Centre Munich, Germany, performs tailored and comprehensive (untargeted) metabolomics using a combination of (ultra)high resolution mass spectrometry and NMRspectroscopy with (bio)informatics analysis which allows the description of any complex organic system on a molecular level. These combined techniques represent a rapid and robust tool for deep metabotyping and small molecule profiling and will be used for generating comprehensive compositional data and the assessment of the nutritional quality of the studied native food ingredients and products, which will assist our work in composition, bioavailability and nutritional quality.
