Conducting Indigenous research: Ethical and integrity complexities

8 June 2022 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

free

The University of Queensland Research Ethics and Integrity office is delighted to invite you to a forum to promote and discuss ethical considerations and requirements when conducting Indigenous research. The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) Code of Ethics for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research presents a framework for conducting Indigenous research, which is structured around four principles: Indigenous self-determination, Indigenous leadership, impact and value, and sustainability and accountability. In this event, a panel of UQ academics from different disciplines will share their experience in conducting Indigenous research. The panel will discuss opportunities and challenges, as viewed through the lens of the AIATSIS research ethics framework.
