Projects: Native botanicals

Many native botanicals have food or medicinal value. Oils and extracts from native botanicals can be used in formulations for fragrances or cosmetics while others have antimicrobial or antifungal value and can be used safely to replace synthetic preservatives in food and other products.

Native botanicals also provide a unique floral source for honey production and Australia is known for producing some of the most notable and distinctive honey’s in the world.
